Quarrel at Denaby – Rag Gatherer Summoned

A Quarrel at Denaby.

Samuel Stones, a rag gatherer, of Denaby, was summoned by his wife, Bridget Stones for using threatening language at Denaby on the 19th July.

The complainant said the defendant had used threatening language towards her. He had threatened her with a revolver, and she was afraid to live with him. He had also threatened her father.

A few witnesses corroborated.

Defendant said he had never threatened her at all; he had worked hard for her, and had given her all she wanted.

A witness supported.

Defendant was bound over for six months, in the sum of £5 and to pay the costs.
