Shocking accident at Denaby Main Colliery Yesterday morning, a fatal accident occurred at the Denaby main colliery. A miner, named Joseph Morgan, had left hisworking place, and was proceeding along what is known as “the jinney,” in order to get a lightfor his lamp, which had gone out, when three corves, coming down an incline, ran over him. Death must have been instantaneous. When picked up his head had been reduced almost to a pulp, and was nearly severed from his body. He has only been working at the pit about three weeks, and it is supposed that he did not know the workings. He leaves a wife and three children.
