Stealing a Gun

Isaac Street, 30, and John Stokes, 26, Colliers, were indicted for having stolen a gun, the property of James Beevors, glassblower, of Conisbrough.

Mr Barker prosecuted, and Mr Blackburn defended.

On 22nd of January prosecutor went to Mexborough, and laid the gun down in a corner of a public house. Street picked it up, took it to pieces, and gave it to Stokes, who went away with it.

Since that time the gun has ever been seen, although a search has been made for it.

Prisoners were found guilty, and sentenced to two months imprisonment with hard Labour.
