Service on song

On Tuesday evening last a service of song entitled “Uncle,” was performed in the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Conisbrough by a Choir of 100 Voices.

The Chair Was Taken by C Kilner, Esq. The Reverent, J Pickup read the connective narrative, Mr G. W. Oxley presided at the organ, while Mr J Kilner Bateson conducted.

The service is a musically illustrated compilation a range from “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”

The reader `s part of the work being an abridgement of that world famous composition.

The service throughout was well rendered.

At the close a collection was made on behalf of the choir formed
