Wilful Damage at Conisborough.


Harriet Woolhouse, of Conisborough, was summoned for damaging gooseberry trees the property of Arthur Simpson, of Conisborough.

The prosecutor stated that on the 10th inst he was in his garden when a swarm of bees came over the defendant’s yard. The defendant came over after them with a hive and began to trample down the gooseberry trees, and did damage to the amount of 6d (2.5p).

Many Simpson, wife of the last witness, corroborated.

Sgt Morley deposed to seeing the trees, which appeared to have been trampled down.

Defendant, who did not appear, was fined 5s 6d and 15s costs, which was paid by her daughter.
